Scars

Scars can happen from an injury (an accident) and even from a disease.

When there is a wound in the body, it naturally tries to heal itself (the skin forms new tissues in the affected area), and scars are the signs of that attempt of healing. With the process of scarring, the skin might have got back the tissue, but this is not the same as it was before the wound took place.

The new tissue is usually inferior in quality. Sweat glands and hair follicles do not work on the scars, and that portion of the skin is also not able to take in ultraviolet radiation.Almost everyone has scars on the skin because it is very difficult, almost impossible really, to lead a life without suffering any injury.

Scars are also of various types like keloid scars, contracture scars, hypertrophic scars, acne scars and atrophic scars. Normally scars do not create any problem, but when they appear on the exposed portion of the skin, scars look ugly and it is better to seek a treatment to at least diminish them.
